Thank you for sharing. This should be a great start for Thailand to merge all patient medical record databases from different health care providers together and initiate standards for transferring medical records between the hospital. Referring patients from one hospital to another would be much easier, and less error. In my opinion, the hardest…[Read more]

Thank you for sharing. This is a very good example of an eHealth project that supports patient self-care in diabetes control. I would recommend adding self-care topics for patients that are related to Diabetes Self-Management Education, such as physical activities, diabetic foot care, food diary, topics for smoking and alcohol cessation, etc.

Thank you for sharing. This kind of service is very useful in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. However, there are some limitations that must be a concern in this kind of service, such as the lack of information about physical examination.

I agree with you about navigation data from map applications. The data can be generated in the background without the user knowing that the data has been created. The data from the crowd that is in motion can generate a large number of data all the time.

Good point about inequity. The projects that involve accessing the internet must concern about the people who cannot have electronic devices or cannot use them. Not only the poor who cannot afford it but for other circumstances that block the people from using the electronic devices, such as elderlies, disabilities, or people with poor electronic…[Read more]

If the hospital in the country does not use the ICD standards, there will be problems such as:
– No standardization to classify the disease and the cause of the disease (include causes of death) leads to the information for planning in preventive and resource allocation.
– Harder for health insurance or stakeholder to manage the cost of the…[Read more] -

I have heard about the complaints on using EMR and I sometimes experience myself. Using EMRs is good for storing health and decrease the chance of medical error (the physician prescribes the medication directly without writing it down on papers that have a chance to misinterpret due to poor handwriting). However, getting a patient’s medical…[Read more]

I agree with the concept of eHealth is a way of thinking…[Read more]

Velocity -> Due to the very large number of users, the…[Read more]

I agree with you about continuously assessing vulnerabilities in the system. For the problem that you mentioned in the case study about the misconfiguration that left the system insecure, prevention might be easy as changing the default password of the network hardware from “user: admin, password:admin” to another username!

The disaster recovery plan is very important even for normal situations when there is no cyberattack event. Hardware failure, power outages, and other scenarios that interrupt the system can cause the workflow of the whole hospital to stop. Having a backup server or a plan to use manual paper-based input to run the hospital is still necessary.
