Why is dashboard for data visualization important for healthcare? If you want to design a good dashboard, what are characteristics of your dashboard you are going to design?

The dashboard for data visualization is important for healthcare because communicating with the general population about the current health situation needs to be done with the latest data, easy access, and easy to understand. For instance, the COVID-19 situation (such as the area of the new cluster, the nearest available hospital) must be reported in real-time for the patient to understand and make the decision.
The PM2.5 pollution situation is another example that the dashboard is useful to inform about the area that is polluted, statistics about the amount of PM2.5 in real-time.The design of the dashboard must be
– Fit important data in one single page while still being easy to read and understand
– Simple and easy to interact
– Emphasize important information and numbers
– No irrelevant information presented-

Creating real-time reports requires data collection tools. The data must be in good quality, accuracy, and timeliness. Once the data is keyed in, you may need a set of data warehouse tools, for example, an integration service tool for data integration and transformation into the same standard, before then generate reports. In terms of PM 2.5 data, in order to get real-time data, an IoT hardware may be required here.

Data visualization is a vital tool to analyze the present conditions of the health care facilities, health condition of people and act accordingly in decision making for better performance. As all the data are presented in the form of graphs, charts it is easier to forecast the trends.
Following are the characteristics included in my data visualization design:
1.different graphs and charts( table, matrix, slicer, bar chart, pie chart, Map)
2.various color combination
3.try to include all the information in the same dashboard-

Because healthcare workers have to due with complex data and make important decisions about patient care and hospital resources, I will design an operational dashboard that shows real-time data to facilitate workflow management such as bed occupancy, number of patients in OPD, etc. The other type of dashboard that I might create is an analytic dashboard for the department, which contains the specific type of disease, an operation to see the trend of illness, and specific treatment.

I totally agree with you and would like to add few lines.
For transparency in healthcare facilities, Data visualization dashboards should be available to the general public with some limitations. So, that people can gather some ideas and have options when they are in need.
Unlike professional dashboards, they should be designed in a simple way, with bar charts, tables, and maps. Color combinations and backgrounds are also important to bring people’s attention. -

The dashboard for healthcare data visualization is helpful for the general public to understand the health situation in the area, like in this pandemic situation. Healthcare data is complex and often filled with terminology that can be confusing, so besides visualization, it is also important to put simple definition of the terminology so that the public understands what they are seeing. In terms of visualization design, it also needs to be simple with eye-catching colours. The dashboard should at least include:
– number of daily cases
– time series graphs of the cases
– maps (if possible) where the cases are found
– other variables that are important for that particular disease-

I totally agree with you especially on the need to ensure that the health-related terminology is clearly understood by the general public. It is also important to maintain its simplicity, conciseness, and proper use of mediums, such as graphs, tables or icons to present information.

In terms of healthcare, there are many complicate data that not quite easy to understand. Dashboard for data visualization plays the role to make all that data easy to access for further analysis and decision making. A good dashboard depends on what is the goal of analysis, who is the audience, what is the problem that you want to solve. If I would like to design a dashboard, it might be the operational dashboard which contains the data that necessary to predict the trends of the disease, number of patient hospitalized, bed analysis etc. for efficient resource allocation and hospital management. The dashboard should easy to understand and have the clear color and symbol definition.

The dashboard is important to simply communicate to different audiences. Not only different healthcare professionals but also the general population can have advantages by utilizing it. In terms of health care professionals, it can provide information about bed occupancy, drug stocks, or numbers of patients with different diseases for operational and strategic management at the hospital level or national policy level. Like in the healthcare provider view, the general population can easily communicate with the government using a dashboard like in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The characteristics of a good dashboard should be simple, easy to understand, and providing accurate and timely information.

I agree with you that the general population is an important audience to communicate with. The dashboard for the general population should be simpler, easier (compares to the dashboard for health care providers/managers), and still present the latest accurate information.

Dashboards are important in healthcare because they can provide information quickly to stakeholders to take response actions. The characteristics of a good dashboard in my opinion include: – displays the most important data for responding – display data that is easy to understand – displays complete and interesting data in 1 screen

I agree with others, the dashboard for healthcare should be a data visualization because it will show the data to the audience in an easier way than other dashboards. During the COVID-19 situation, we have a lot of information to update and follow, for example, we can see the in social platform about the number of patients increase and recovery for each day. The data visualization will make the information easy to understand for the audience.
Thank you

Dashboard for visualize data is obviously essential for healthcare.
Collected data in healthcare is usually complex, thus it is struggle to understand and make optimal analysis.
Creating dashboard for visualize these data will help us to understand data easier and clearer, so we can maximize benefits. Furthermore, decent dashboard help us to understand data in overall aspect that help making decision better.Good Dashboard should be
1. Concise – Every important details should be seen in just 1 page.
2. Simple – It should be easy to understand and should be visualize in the proper type of chart.
3. Accurate – Data should be analyze accurately and up-to-date. -

Dashboards are visual display of important information, it makes complex data more digestible. These tend to ease the decision-making in healthcare policy and to ease the patient-healthcare provider communication. As I aforementioned, I convince that the visualized dashboard is important in healthcare setting in some extent. I suggest that excellent dashboard should be included these features; precise – the visual display of information should be accurate in form, time and detail, concise – the visual display should be short and clear, crucial – should be included all key information, relevant – the information should be related.

In healthcare system, data visualization using dashboard be importance role for decision making especially in public health policy establishing. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 patient report via dashboard help the government manage the resources as well as vaccine properly. Not only the real time information, but also data trending will be demonstrated. Ideal dashboard should be attractive, comprehensive, easy to understand, up-to-date and accurate.

The dashboard can help us see the big picture of the process or outcome. We can find out the cause of abnormal things that showed in the dashboard and can be a part of creating health policy or health decision support
