1. Why would you choose cloud server, rather than physical server?
I would consider a distributed cloud server, rather than a single physical server, in case a computer server fails. Maintenance would also be less a problem.
2. What kind of cloud computing service model would be most appropriate (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)? Why?
Either PaaS or IaaS…[Read more]

May be the concept of Big Data and AI might be able to fix the variability on the data? Instead of using human to standardize the coding, a programming script might be able to create value in data.

Architecture is indeed important before stepping forward in the direction of interconnected healthcare. Some of the obstacles are
– Scanning documents increases the workload. Standardizing the medical coding also increases the workload, as well as not perfect.
– Patients might not be willing to share information across the hospital. They…[Read more] -

Obviously, it will involve stakeholders, including randomized group of patients and medical personnel; investors and finally, the government. Centralizing the data systems should use a proven model.
I would give the most credit to right wing investors, followed by the more educated patients, as well as doctors/nurses. Actually, I might not trust…[Read more]

Having read a little of Homo Deus, and the discussion on the future of mankind, it should be most important to handle new jobs, and also the loss of old jobs as well. There will be disruption if you don’t adapt to changes.

In my experience on programming (and also what I have read on web communities), math skills aren’t really needed as much, although some analytical skills will be needed, if you program a really low level, including sensors used in the IoT.
Although if you program Python PANDAS or NumPy; or perhaps OpenCV, some applied mathematics would be…[Read more]

First and foremost, I think we need management skills, to be able to create and manage new or existing projects, and to be able to recruit talents to the team. We should also be able to handle technology changes and Disruption. Also, we should be able to create a data-driven organization with similar vision — evidence-based.
Of course, the…[Read more]

Although, it can definitely improve healthcare via Big Data Analysis, the biggest challenge with Big Data is always confidentiality, privacy, and rights to remove data….
But if it is possible, ambulatory monitoring to patient parameters can drive new direction in ambulatory medicine, such as asthma, hypertension, diabetes and hypersomnia.
IoT…[Read more]

Mostly only partially. About the database that needs backup and avoid duplication, I would consider moving to a private cloud.
For the non-data part, I would probably not move to the cloud, as there is alway migration cost, and just maintaining the legacy system might be cheaper. However, I do consider create new systems on the cloud.
As for…[Read more]

I would obviously not click the “Clean” button, and noted in the mind as that website is either malicious or infected.
I would also be aware that less cautious people can get lured, so I would tell them that website is untrusted, and report the website to authority.
After that I should be aware that my computer, browsing a bad website, can…[Read more]

A computer at my previous faculty contains viruses, causing certain files to be hidden, and the usb drive to be easily full (cannot contain more files).
It was a shared computer that is used to connect to the projector.
Prevention?
On the shared computer’s side:
– Avoid using USB drives
– Use readonly CD’s, if needed
– Download files, instead…[Read more] -

Hybrid app with either Flutter or Reactive Native would be the best choice. Fallback is web app, as we want to target both iOS and Android platforms, and true web app has some limited capabilities.
– Local data storage, in case of offline
– Performance and responsiveness
– People are more likely to open native/hybrid mobile app than web…[Read more] -

Considering the current market, it would be sensible to target mobile platform.
At my current capability, web app is considerably much easier, but if I have to make mobile native, I can use Cordova with TypeScript (which actually compiles to JavaScript.)
If designing the UI is not problem, I might use Vue NativeScript (TypeScript/JavaScript) or…[Read more]

Of course, Decision Support System (DSS), I used, and should be continued to encourage using, as a support for patient care, as a GP physician.
It would be helpful, if AI, akin to Siri, would assist in screening patients and giving OTC medications. 1669 app is also in the right direction, and should be promoted. I think this one is TPS.

As my motto is patient-first, both in healthiness and understandings, it would be better to collect the data to PAN, and let patients make sense of their data.
Beyond that, as WAN becomes less expensive and Blood Pressure Measurement is one of the less sensitive information, it should be distributed to central server via WAN, but not Internet…[Read more]

I think that there is a big problem of opening healthiness to the public, the secretive and advantageous nature of knowledge. As long as, medical clinics and pharmacies continue to censor the label of medical products, nothing open in nature as the Internet will happen.
This also further dis-incentivize medical personnel to digitalize medical…[Read more]

Perhaps the most evident is the system that is GP doctor uses itself, namely HosXP. There should be an attempt to digitalize everything in the hospital, including alternative medicine, scanned documents from other hospitals and X-ray. Having worked in many local hospital, standardization of best practices is another topic.
It is said that good…[Read more]
