In short, I want to, a medical doctor in province, make better public health, not only for KPI, but also satisfaction.

Generally, no. Unless I notify the client that the data will be given out, and given chance to participate or withdraw from the project, in order not to violate the Principle of Privacy.
Unless a legal framework is already set, so that the consent is already possible in advance.

Apparently, in this case, it is impossible to tell my friend, despite feeling conflicted. However, it is possible to contact the medical personnel who deals with my friend’s husband, or telling my friend’s husband to be careful of others.
It is best to tell my friend nothing, and give no clues, as legally, it is intention that matters, whether…[Read more]

X-ray PACS system, despite far from perfect, can be considered a relative success, as
– We can access X-ray films from anywhere in the hospital.
– We can import X-ray from most hospitals into the system.
– Better than traditional film in that we can zoom in and control contrast.Still, despite meeting the criteria for success (significantly…[Read more]

Example of Decision Support System are indeed various smartphone apps that medical students get after graduated from medical schools. However, this varies by medical schools, and it might end at some time after graduation.
Smaller hospitals that I worked in are less likely to be able to afford most decision support systems; and they certainly…[Read more]

Thinking deeper. I think it is about bad priorities.
The EHR is good for capturing costs, Jones noted, adding that they’re more geared toward capturing the billing information for insurance companies.
I would say that EHR is systems first.
– quality of care, second
– patient satisfaction / PMR, third
– doctors’ f…[Read more] -

In my experience, I totally agree with the findings. Other than typing, there are still many challenges that need to be research into.
– Drawing and video capturing should be easy, like LINE logging, or paper scanning.
– Typing in the wrong place is real. Must be fixed, maybe via UX research, or even perhaps Natural language processing.
– Bad at…[Read more] -

If there is better standard, I would be OK with it, but at some point, using the same standard, or normalizable to the same standard is needed, in order to better the interoperability. Using an ICD10 superset would indeed be interesting.
According to Dr. Boonchai’s interop book, Table 10; I think there needs to be more research on why some…[Read more]

Health information in various Electronic Health Records across different hospitals can be considered Big Data.
1. Volume — As the number of patients is high, the volume of data is undoubtedly high. It is also high in other aspects as will be described.
2. Velocity — Healthcare facility works like a factory. A lot of data is continually added…[Read more] -

In my opinion, there still remain multiple dimensions of eHealth.
– Networking part — trend towards more patient-centered medicine, whether decision making in case of bad health, or preventing in case of good health; but, can patients be relied upon? Not every person loves their health and their society that much, and not everyone’s first…[Read more]

I would consider a distributed cloud server, rather than a single physical server, in case a computer server fails. Maintenance would also be less a problem.

Either PaaS or IaaS…[Read more]

May be the concept of Big Data and AI might be able to fix the variability on the data? Instead of using human to standardize the coding, a programming script might be able to create value in data.

– Scanning documents increases the workload. Standardizing the medical coding also increases the workload, as well as not perfect.

First and foremost, I think we need management skills, to be able to create and manage new or existing projects, and to be able to recruit talents to the team. We should also be able to handle technology changes and Disruption. Also, we should be able to create a data-driven organization with similar vision — evidence-based.
