I cannot send the data directly to them. I will check the consent form of patients first (If there is it) and check the official document to request the data from us. We can make sure that they will not use data in the wrong way and protect patient’s privacy. There is a possibility to share the data because it’s a benefit for patients. In this case, I think we don’t feel the need to ask for consent from patients if the advantages of the study are better for them.

According to the principle of information privacy and disposition, I cannot tell anyone. It’s the patient’s privacy. The personal data should keep confidential, so I should not access any information about my family or my friend without their consent. I can only give her advice to test again in different hospitals if she consults with me, but I will say nothing if she didn’t ask. As a health information professional, I should respect the privacy of patients and not harm them. As I mentioned, it’s our obligation to hold the information with us to protect patient privacy.

Thank you for the best presentation! Nowadays, mental health is a popular topic and affects many people in broadway. If AI involved in the project, it is a good idea that can help the physician and especially the patients. According to my experience, the patient sometimes doesn’t need face-to-face with physicians but they need to talk with anyone without seeing the face. So I hope this project will succeed and help a lot of patients.

Thank you for the presentation. I think this is a good way to reduce human error and redundancy. It is convenient for patients as they can save time and cost. According to my experience, if I need a prescription. I need to have an appointment for 1 week in advance with my doctor and take the day off to see the doctor just for my contraceptive pills prescription every 6 months. So, I like this project a lot.

This is a good example that combines the application and devices. So, this helps physicians to follow up and reduce costs and time for the patient. I think nowadays, not only the eHealth is important but also the technology device that can help physicians monitor the patient correctly and remote control it.

As I discussed before, my company change the new system properly. As I see, most employees want to change the system because the previous one is difficult to understand. They know that technology goes fast and wants a new system to arrange and manipulate its data. The company provides training on using the system, which lets the employee gain their skills and knowledge. The employee also continues to use the system every day, so they learn that the new system reduces the error and is easy to use. This led them to satisfy with the new system.

According to my company’s system, I think it is successful because of all factors (Data, Cost, Operation, Design, and People). The design to use, If the system is easy to use and the operation is in good quality like the system response in a short time, and there are training and technical support to solve the problem immediately. So, it makes users satisfy to work.

The Decision Support System used in my company is to report the critical laboratory result. There is an alarm when the result is out of range. It is working well as the system will notify automatically, so the laboratory technician knows and repeat the result. The factors that influence the decision support system is the system quality. As I know, the efficiency of the DSS system is a lack of immediate reports. This process takes time too long until it reports the critical range.

Suppose there is no ICD standard. The physician will work hard due to no diagnostic classification standard. The data will not share and comparing between hospitals, regions, and countries, so they cannot monitor the incidence and prevalence of the disease, observing reimbursements and resource allocation trends, and keeping track of safety and quality guidelines. There is no easy storage, retrieval, and analysis of health information for evidence-based decision-making. This situation makes physicians challenging to decide.
-
2020-10-03 at 10:16 pm #22978Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant
According to the news, I found that the physician spends a lot of time using the EHR system for documentation, ordering tests, reviewing results, and communicating with patients or other physicians. So, this can cause burnout. I heard some of them complain when they need to fill the data in the system. I think the best way to solve this problem is a straightforward design for an EHR system. The vendors should develop software that allows physicians to quickly see the patient’s most relevant medical, health, and social history. There should have a function that types automatically after the voice, so it is easier for the physicians. Furthermore, The excellent design EHR will help the physician to enter only the necessary information.

I think data that generate in “youtube” could be considered as Big Data. It’s fit to 10 characteristics.
1. Volume – there is a huge amount of information generated every second like a video, audio and etc.
2. Variety – The data is in the form of text, video, audio, and many more.
3. Velocity- There is a massive and continuous flow data. Youtube generates and processes the data very quickly.
4. Value – Youtube contains an amount of valuable, reliable, and trustworthy data
5. Veracity – The data is sometimes messy and bad quality so it is difficult to control.
6. Variability – There is some inconsistent speed at which big data is loaded into the database.
7. Validity -Youtube will ensure consistent data quality and accuracy. So sometimes we can report inaccuracy data
8. Vulnerability

1. I saw some projects from the company in the Netherlands. As I know, this company creates a pad (like a strip test) that the patient can test to follow-up the coagulation test result by themselves. They come with the application to consult and interpret the data with the doctor, and the doctor will advise the patient.
2. This project can help to reduce hospital visits. The patients do not need to travel to the hospital, and the doctor can follow-up on the patient’s result quickly.3. I think this project also depends on the pad that they use. The company should ensure the sensitivity and specificity of the place that show the correct result. Furthermore, older people will not be familiar with the application, so they should have accessible and concise content.

The post above is my report, so here is a short answer to the question.
1. Provide a brief description of the story.
Independence Blue Cross is a health insurer based in Philadelphia. They upload a member data around 16,000 patients online for three months between April 2018 and July 2018, due to employee error. This data includes names, dates of birth, diagnosis codes, provider details, and information used for claim processing purposes. There is no detail that the employee intentionally or accidental. However, this cybercriminal can use this data for medical fraud.
2. What is/are the impact of this data breach? Consequences of the data breach.
The data includes names, dates of birth, diagnosis codes, provider details, and information used for claim processing purposes. So, this cybercriminal can use this data for medical fraud. It means they can lend themselves to abuse when referrals are made for service that isn’t even needed, such as X-rays cost, MRIs cost, prescription drugs cost, etc.3. How did the data breach occur?
Some employee uploads a member data online on the website.4. What should be the main cause of the data breach? Provide a brief explanation of the cause of data breach, such as phishing, ransomware, HIPAA violation, database misconfiguration, human error, third-party vendor error)?
Human error is the main reason for this problem, but the company needs to prove its intention or accident.5. How could you prevent this data breach attack?
The organization should have proper access controls and network monitoring to prevent human errors or detect improperly uploaded data. Besides, the organization should have user security. They should provide authentication to ensure the user’s identity is confirmed by password or biometrics, data integrity for protecting information from unauthorized alteration, and availability for preventing interference with system access by authorized users. The employee should then reveal the data before uploading it online again or using only “intranet”, which is limited for authorized users. Human error can happen anytime while they are careless. We can reduce human error by adding more concentrate by using the authentication and double-check by other related people to ensure no mistake is happening.

I will propose to the executive board that the cloud server be used for this project because it will save costs. This benefit will help the hospital to save substantial costs because they do not need any physical hardware investment. Furthermore, the cloud service provider will quickly update, support, and maintain service. There is unlimited storage and scales automatically. The patients can access easily from everywhere. Also, there is data security that protects patient information. I will use SaaS for this project. It’s suitable for one IT officer who manages and fixes the problem for patients as I mention the advantages above. The cloud service provider will provide everything for the service, which fits with the hospital’s limitations.

The system blueprint developed should involve all stakeholders and the builder. The stakeholders should be the hospital chair, public health officer (clinical staff), and Hospital admin ( for regulating the project, support various activities including financial) from each hospital within the province.
The builder (IT) includes an informatician, programmer, database administrator, network administrator, security specialist, and web designer.
They should also have the sponsor, such as the government, to cooperate, help, and fund until its success. The stakeholders will have people from different departments, such as laboratory, pharmacy, doctors. They will be responsible for considering the healthcare system, processes, and functions they would like to use.
The builder will then be responsible for designing the semantic health information interoperability used among the hospitals within the province.
So they will have interoperability among the hospitals for communicating, exchange data in a valid, effective, and secure environment.
-
2020-09-11 at 2:35 am #22369Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant
If there is no enterprise architecture plan for the overall health information system, there will be many problems. First of all, they will lack interoperability. It is not easy to share the data or maintain it. Furthermore, the staff will have much workload due to redundant data entry because the previous hospital data does not send to other hospitals. The disadvantages can affect the patient because they lack the correct data. The doctor will provide a medical history of treatment, lab result, or the chart that show their previous symptoms or drugs. In case they lack this. That can lead to the wrong diagnostic. So the enterprise architecture plan is crucial to solving the sensitive issue, especially when this is related to human life.

According to my background, I am a laboratory technician so I am familiarized with laboratory-related knowledge like microbiology, toxicology, and basic knowledge of public health and epidemiology. However, I need to expand my knowledge in many disciplines. Especially public health and epidemiology, statistics, information science because this knowledge is the core subjects to understand and collect the data. Furthermore, I would like to gain knowledge in computer science, political science, and law. And I still need to gain skills in management, organization, communication. All subjects and skills are essential for this career. As an Informatician, we cannot leave out any subjects but we should learn and combines it together to develop ourselves.

According to my experience, my computer was attacked by a virus from “flash drive” that I used with the school’s computer. The school’s computers contain virus because many students download program or open the unauthorized website. When I used the flash drive with my computer, it restarted itself and some of files were destroyed by virus. After that, I always use anti-virus software for protection of my computer.

Dashboard is an effective tool for data visualization because it is an easy way for people to understand complex data in short period of time. Especially in healthcare system, there is various type of data of patient for example, ages, gender, congenital disease, blood pressure, and etc. Dashboard helps users to provide information in real time, no need for transferring data several times and organizing data to not be messy.
I will design my dashboard to be simple , short but conclude everything, easy to understand so it will not include only text but also the tables, graphs, icons. It’s depended on what type of information. -

I would like to design hybrid application that can be used in both computers and mobile phone because it will useful and conveniet for searching. I’m interested in ‘Laboratory result application’ Nowadays, people sometimes get the lab result without any notification from the doctor. Some people use ‘google’ for searching the information so occasionally it’s not correct and that can affect their life style. In this application, I will combine the necessary lab result that people should know for taking care themselves for example, blood sugar,LDL,HDL, AST,ALP. So, they can estimate from all lab result that they have. This application will reduce time for searching in separate website. Furthermore, they will get the correct information and get some advice from this application to take care their body and follow-up their blood result after tracking.

In case of I need to learn one of language for design program. I will select ‘Python’ although the JavaScript is the most language that people use but Python is growing and becoming one of the most popular programming languages. I think Python has simplicity, flexibility, versatility, and other useful features. Furthermore, Python is a better choice to perform data science tasks and solve issues. Python is easier to understand and write because it’s more readable. Therefore, I think it’s suitable for people who do not have any prior programming experience like me.

I had experience with three of them
TPS –Billing the laboratory cost is done manually by typing into the computer system. Then, it will process the cost of test.
MIS – The laboratory system uses to process the sample in the machine. Then the result will report in the data base.
DSS – There is notification when the result runs out from normal range so the physician can observe, repeat or report quickly. The system will require the data from data base then process to alert. -
2020-10-14 at 11:22 pm #23320Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant
According to my experience, I think the laboratory results are accurate as they need to do a 3-time different method to make sure before confirming the result. But there is a possibility to be false-result. If she asks me, I will advise her to test in a different hospital. However, I will not tell her that I know this result. I think she will feel shame if I told her straight, and she will not believe in the privacy of patient information in the hospital anymore. Maybe, she can sue me because I lack ethics.
-
2020-10-12 at 2:15 am #23285Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant
I agree with you. This will also affect the DCSS because there is no supportive information as no share or communication between the hospital.
-
2020-10-12 at 2:11 am #23284Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant
This is a challenging topic ever that needs to collect big data to support the decision. If there is a good tool to collect the data from other countries then review by the specialist. Maybe it works but DCSS cannot replace all processes in policy thinking.
-
2020-10-12 at 2:03 am #23283Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant

I think so. It’s not possible for the patient to pay for the device. This is the reason why the EU invest huge money to do it. In my opinion, because this is a first-generation e-Health project. So they want to know the effect and change of e-Health technology.
-
2020-10-12 at 12:28 am #23273Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant
This was a first-generation e-Health project that the EU tried to do it in 2017. According to this project, the patient doesn’t need to pay any more, so the EU invests huge money for it. I think it’s valuable because, after this project, there is a big change with e-Health.
-
2020-10-12 at 12:25 am #23272Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant
Yeah, I think so! This project was held in 2017, so I think it was the first generation of e-Health. As I read this, they were trying to challenge and create new things at that time. It seems normal in the present time. By the way, it was really a big step in the past. That’s why they invest a lot of money.
-

Yes! Of course, patients are the people who are related to this process. Anyway, in my opinion, people in each part still be the patients in the system already. It means they can talk both in the consumer part and service provider part.
Or they can add the patients’ comments in the meeting so it will be a great idea.
( I’m not sure that is it difficult if we invite the patients to the meeting, so here is my another idea) -
2020-09-11 at 2:53 am #22371Ornpicha ThiampolParticipant
