
Besides apps that others have mentioned, the Digital 506 (D506) project in Thailand is currently focused on modernizing disease surveillance. It automates data reporting from various Health Information Systems (HIS), such as HosXp. Although promising, it faces challenges like delayed executive approvals, interoperability issues among HISs, and concerns about data quality. Health informatics could provide solutions: user-centric design can improve usability, standardized data protocols like FHIR could enhance data sharing, and machine learning algorithms may improve outbreak detection. Incorporating time-to-event analysis can also lead to faster public health responses. Integrating health informatics could make Digital 506 more efficient and effective.”
