From Shaw T, et al.’s study, there are domains formed a model of eHealth and this study suggest that eHealth initiatives that are most impactful would include elements from all 3 domains:
(1) health in our hands (using eHealth technologies to monitor, track, and inform health)
(2) interacting for health (using digital technologies to enable health communication among practitioners and between health professionals and clients or patients)
(3) data enabling health (collecting, managing, and using health data)
For “eHealth” in my opinion, I agree with this definition. “e-health” is an emerging field in the intersection of medical informatics, public health and business, referring to health services and information delivered or enhanced through the Internet and related technologies. In a broader sense, the term characterizes not only a technical development, but also a state-of-mind, a way of thinking, an attitude, and a commitment for networked, global thinking, to improve health care locally, regionally, and worldwide by using information and communication technology. Moreover e-Health is a broader term than either telemedicine or telehealth, including telehealth, telecare, electronic medical records, and use of the Internet, among many other applications.
