I think you are talking about an interoperability and standards. If all healthcare agencies can use the same standardized data collection methods in their information system, for example HL7 which is a set of international standards for transfering health information. It is likely that this problem can be solved.

Dealing with real-time data, everything has to be ready and well designed, whether the database, network devices including related servers. In particular, transactional data of real-time system occurs concurrently.

Yes, It’s right, it’s happening.
I think the problem addresses the fact that the vaccine reservation systems are unable to handle the high volume of transactional data being fed in at the same time.
In TMHG 545, you will learn some techniques how to design the system to handle a ton of transactional data.Thank you,

Yes, we can collect and store the data into a database server hosted in LAN. It ‘s a good idea that we store the data in LAN database first. We can validate and clean the data before sending to the MoPH ‘s server.

As you mentioned, in terms of speed of communication in a network, even though it is easy to install and cheap, however, there are many factors that affect network speed such as the quality and throughput of the network devices. Also, the amount and size of the transmitted data, sometimes It also depends on the network policies of each…[Read more]

No matter what type of network, data transmission security is always important. Therefore, we must ensure that the data we transmit between our machines and MoPH servers is reliable and secure.

Your opinion is quite comprehensive. Absolutely, WAN is expensive and requires many networking devices and specialists to develop, monitor and maintain. However, that is the duty of ISP (Internet Service Providers), for example True, TOT, AIS, CAT, etc. We are all users of these ISPs to connect our computers to MoPH’s server over WAN.

Absolutely, no matter what kind of network is transmitted. In addition to data security that must be always important, the speed of data transmission is another important thing. IT staff will need to monitor and tune-up the performance of the network regularly.

Transmission of personal data via the Internet, we must ensure that the channel we connect to is secure enough, for example the information sent to MOPH’s servers must be running over “https” to encrypt data.
Today, I think there are many websites that still transmit data over the internet but without encryption, they still use “http” in the…[Read more] -

Yes, I agree with you, when we talk about WAN or the Internet, both the user and the IT staff must have the highest security measures because if the system is hacked or attacked, the data being transmitted may be altered or leaked into the hands of unauthorized persons.

Absolutely, when we transmit data over the Internet or WAN, regardless of the method used. One thing that needs to be emphasized is data security. You will learn some more about security in the next course, TMHG 545.

Your answer is accurate and comprehensive. However, when we talk about LAN security, especially in a hospital, It will also depend on your IT setup and hopital security policy. You will learn some more security techniques in the next course.

Yes, your opinion about MIS is correct. An MIS provides reports based on routine flows of data from TPS, like your survey data. The MIS is applied to decision-making at all levels. It helps to retrieve information quickly. Most of them involve structured problems, focusing on solving routine problems.

Of course, your OSS system is an example of MIS. I think it uses transactional data from your TPS that is entered into the system on a daily basis.
In order to get accurate and timely MIS reports, your developers have to build a query module to retrieve the TPS data to produce reports in various formats according to users’ conditions and to be…[Read more]

The chest x-ray interpreation system is another example of DSS used in healthcare. I think the method you have mentioned is “machine learning”. Certainly, it is necessary to teach the machine with algorithm how to predict the outcome as accurately as possible.

Typically, in an organization, not many staffs use DSS, it depends on their roles. Since DSS is an interactive software that may include an AI, data warehouse, data mining, modelling, and visualization dashboard tools, so I think, the reason why few people use DSS, it is not only about roles, but also the software license. It is expensive. I’m…[Read more]

You have mentioned the three types of information systems. Each of them has a supportive relationship with other types. TPS is usually the basic data source for other types of information system, MIS mainly uses data from TPS system, while DSS emphasizes decision making and uses information from MIS system and some external data to help improve or…[Read more]

An airline seat reservation system is a big TPS. It needs special software and database, not only to manage the transactions, but also manage the data lock too.
