If I were to develop a mobile app, my choice would be to design a patient portal utilizing the hybrid app approach. A patient portal serves as an encompassing platform that enables patients to conveniently access their medical records, communicate with healthcare providers, schedule appointments, and effectively manage their health-related information directly from their mobile devices. The decision to opt for hybrid apps is based on their ability to offer a uniform user experience across various platforms. This means that patients utilizing both iOS and Android devices would encounter a comparable interface and functionality, ensuring a cohesive and seamless interaction regardless of the device they use.

Good idea. Using mobile app to access their medical records is very useful for patients. However, we have to strengthen the security of the portal because the data is very sensitive. We have to design the app to protect the confidentiality by using the features like encryption and strong authentication.

I used to request my own medical record and it took about 2 weeks to get all my needed documents because the staff had to submit the request to different departments, and it cannot be done in a few days.As a keen traveler, I envision the convenience of an all-in-one travel planning app. Presently, trip planning involves juggling multiple applications for discovering attractions, restaurants, flight or train or car reservations etc. While creating a native app might demand more money and time upfront, the benefits are evident. This includes offline functionality, ensuring data security, and optimizing device features like GPS and real-time notifications.

I would build a hybrid mobile app for implementing community-level healthcare workers to enter malaria data. The decision to opt for a hybrid app stems from its ability to combine the advantages of both native and web development approaches, which align well with the specific needs of the project.
My Reasons for Choosing a Hybrid App
Offline Data Entry: A hybrid app would allow healthcare workers to enter malaria data even when offline. This is crucial, especially in remote areas with poor network connectivity. Once an internet connection is available, the app can store the data locally and synchronize it with the server.
Reduced Development Cost: Hybrid apps share a common codebase, which translates to cost savings in development and maintenance. This is particularly beneficial for projects with budget constraints.
Faster Development: With a single codebase, development time is considerably reduced compared to building separate native apps for different platforms.
Access to Native Device Features: Malaria data entry might require using the device’s camera, GPS, and offline storage. A hybrid app can still access these native features through plugins, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Centralized Monitoring: Hybrid apps allow for centralized data monitoring, making it easier for decision-makers to assess and analyze the malaria data collected. A unified dashboard can provide insights at various levels.

Application about business in health care is worth exploring. Transportation for non-emergency hospital visits offers the service of organizing transport to and from the hospital for recently discharged hospital patients, patients with chronic health conditions, seniors, and others who need assistance. In cities with rapidly aging populations, like Bangkok, not only could this be a benefit to the community — but also a strong business prospect. This transportation app can be like Grab with a qualified and experienced driver to be able to bring our grandparents to the hospital.

As a cancer patient myself, I really wanted a social network just for cancer patients, so that we can support each other, talk about our own experiences, and make new friends (very important for me, because my friends all started working after graduation while I am the only one who is staying at home without things to do). People often talk about the physical and mental health of cancer patients, but not their social needs. It was very difficult for me to find fellow patients and make friends so I would want to build a platform for that. Personally, I would definitely prefer native apps even if they require a lot more work to develop. I’ve personally used web apps and hybrid apps, but they just don’t feel right. I keep having the feeling that I am just visiting a website in broswer. Native apps feels a lot more responsive and “app-like”, which gives users more comfort to use.

Dear Ching To Chang, ofcourse I think this kind of social network for cancer patients app is very useful. My mother is one of cancer patient as well. Many years ago at the beginning of her therapy, she really need the consultant who have the same feeling as her, so she participated in the Cancer group in Facebook and she got well encourages from friends and also the useful information and knowledge related to her situation. I would create an app that acts like a one-stop health resource center. With this app, users can easily check out different health topics and find links, documents, blogs, videos, and more from trusted sources. An important feature will let users save stuff for offline reading, like documents and videos, even when they’re not connected to the internet. To make it easy for everyone, the app will have features like text-to-speech, screen reading, and adjustable text size. Since we want to keep the info fresh and reach lots of people, we’ll go with a hybrid app. That means we can put it on both iPhones and Android phones with just one set of code, making it easier for more people to use.

For me if it is possible I would like to create a hospital indoor and outdoor mapping and navigation app especially the large hospitals that consists of too many wards, small units, laboratories section, pharmacy, billings, etc, and also many parts of facilities such as WC, cafeteria, waiting area for patients and parking lots, which is normally located on different floors. Patients and visitors always confuse where to start and where to go particularly in indoor area that usually not a one-stop services, instead they need to go many areas during their each visits. Since this issue is currently happenning in my workplace and it affects patients experience, so this application might help them find their destination easily, spend less time in their hospital visits and reduce hospital crowd.
For the type of mobile app, I would like to develop it as a hybrid application because it compatible with any platforms either iOS or android. Also, the users can use the app via web browsers as well which is convenient. Finally, by creating the hybrid app, hospital or organisation does not need to hire developers to work for each different platform (Such as iOS or Android developers), they need only web skills, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript which can reduce cost and time in creating an application.

I am gonna develop an app that would help patients in remote areas who are looking for healthcare consultation and other health-related services. When the internet becomes accessible in rural areas of the country, patients can consult for their symptoms and get services from AI if those are minor symptoms or AI-assisted healthcare providers for major cases. The patients as well as the doctors can review the symptoms from their records. If it is needed, they will be brought up to the nearest tertiary hospital for further advanced management. In such a way, it will not only reduce the time and cost of transportation for people living in rural areas to access healthcare facilities but also reduce the workload of healthcare workers.
A hybrid app is the most suitable for this purpose as my classmates mentioned many advantages in above. -

I will try to simplify the process of these bookings the appointments with the easy-to-use user interface. To ensure maximum accessibility for all users, I would choose a hybrid application that serves to a wide range of operating systems, providing broader coverage.
