ParticipantMy oral presentation is about a proposed surveillance system aimed for Malaria outbreaks detection, considering the legal and ethical issues, and how the data will be transferred from one department to another, and how the data will be utilized and evaluated.
It is about 10 minutes and I hope you all can enjoy my presentation. I would love to hear your frank suggestions and thoughts on my surveillance system.

ParticipantYour presentation is great. I like how you covered the legal about Myanmar Rules.I think you should add a section on reducing errors in System Quality. This would make the system more reliable, which is really important for detecting outbreaks. It would also help people trust the system more.

ParticipantYour presentation offered valuable insights and expanded my knowledge of malaria and its surveillance.
A question that doubts me is:
If a patient visits a healthcare facility (e.g., hospitals, clinics) for medical attention and the consent form doesn’t explicitly mention disease surveillance, can we still use the data collected from that facility for surveillance purposes?-

ParticipantHello Cing, I think Malaria is a notifiable disease in Myanmar, so I think the hospital can share the data without any identifiable variables with government related surveillance system. However, it will be very hard to do so in the current situation of Myanmar where all the state infrastructures and data flow is severely limited on both sides.

ParticipantThank you for your malaria surveillance system presentation. I appreciate your focus on integrating passive, active, and sentinel surveillance, especially in hard-to-reach areas. Having statistical data on malaria prevalence in remote hilly and forest regions could help plan and select sentinel surveillance sites more effectively.
