In Indonesia, internet technology is benefit for enhancing the quality of health and medical service through provision of telemedicine and better medical record. Although the internet modernizes the paradigm of medical care sector and brings significant improvement on it; however, there is specific barrier found during the implementation of internet for healthcare.
The telemedicine is an innovation of health service provision in the form of mobile apps where patient can seek consultation through their own smart phones and communicate with practitioners virtually without attending medical center. Another prime example about the impact of internet technology in healthcare is well-established medical record which previously depends on paper usage stored in a filing cabinet. Through electronic medical record, the essential information of patients is saved in computer system that ensures security of patient’s data.
In contrast, the benefit of internet applied in medical field has also brought challenge. As telemedicine requires users to provide specific privacy information such as phone number, ID number and profile pictures during the first registration in apps, some potential data leakages may occur and lead to abuse of data for risky purposes committed by irresponsible person. Although telemedicine is a user friendly mobile application where almost all digital-literate people can utilize it; however, if the users are not aware of the risks, data leaks can create big problem among them.
I concluded that in my country, the innovation arise from internet technology can bring great improvement for healthcare. But I do not ignore the fact that a smart group of people may look the existence of internet as an opportunity to commit data leakages for other purposes.

Nowadays, data security is very important, especially healthcare data. Every application that transmits data over a network and stores data on storage must has bmethods to maintain data privacy and confidentiality such as data encryption, user authentication, and authorization. However, in order to keep the information safe from leaking, app users themselve also need to have a good understanding of various types of threats that can attack or deceive them too.

Internet technology is quite popular in Thailand since the COVID-19 outbreak.
Telemedicine was implemented both at the hospital level and country level.
Telemedicine plays a crucial role in leveraging service, including allowing patients to meet with physicians remotely, electronic physician appointments along with door-to-door medicine delivery service.
Moreover, internet technology allows physicians to refer/consult with each other easier through electronic medical records, and electronic laboratory result portals.
This would ensure timely detected the patient’s abnormality.
The implementation of telemedicine not only helps retain patients in the healthcare system during the COVID-19 outbreak. This would be one of the most important infrastructures of Thailand’s Healthcare system in the future.The current important challenge in Thailand is the inability to link to data of each patient between hospitals/pharmacies. The gap between hospitals would result in polypharmacy, delay in treatment, and patient loss to follow-up.
Another challenge in Thailand is the patient privacy concern as we are just fully implementing PDPA. This impacted hospitals at every level of Thailand.-
Data sharing is still a big challenge among hospitals. That is the reason why many healthcare organizations including goverment agencies pushed a lot of effort to introduce a standard of data sharing called HL7 FHIR because the real benefit will be the patient well-being and care result. They can see a doctor at any hospital and can grant the doctor access to their patient information. The PDPA law does not only affect hospitals, but it also affects other fields such as research, human ethics experiments, etc. Therefore, everyone must have a good knowledge and understanding of this law.

Telemedicine is the useful system for Healthcare and I agree that apart from COVID-19, telemedicine can be developed more for other health care management. As far as I know, to consult and receive service remotely with doctors, is provided by private healthcare units or insurance companies which some people couldn’t afford the service. Using telemedicine in governmental hospitals could happen in the future to reach bigger populations and reduce crowding.

During the Covid-19 epidemic, Thailand has developed an app called Morprom which allows each citizen to access their own vaccination history and request a vaccine certificate online from anywhere. Moreover, the app also tracks side effects after vaccination for further research.
Overall, I think Thailand is doing well, but there are still many challenges. Let’s take the example of Estonia which can digitalize its entire healthcare system. Estonian patients have a countrywide digital record where they can safely access their medical history from the Internet. They also have E-prescription services, a paperless prescription system, Estonian patients just only need their ID card to go to the pharmacy to buy prescripted drugs from doctors. Moreover, Estonian doctors can issue a medical certificate or sick-leave note into the medical database which would be directly transferred to employers who then have trustworthy proof of diagnosis.
At the end of the day, Thailand still has a lot of room for improvement in the healthcare system.

In the past, Internet has been used to access medical knowledge by medical personnel. They can view books, online medical journal. Meanwhile, many patients use Internet for searching about possible diagnosis for their illness.
Nowadays, there are many applications of Internet in healthcare. People can visit virtual hospital, talking with doctors about their symptoms and doctors will prescribe medication or give some advice. Moreover, some hospitals use autobots to chat with patients and triage their symptoms. During Covid-19 epidemics in the past 3 years, there are many apps which are developed for gathering epidemiologic data, helping doctors to manage patients, or communicating with patients.
There are many challenges about Internet in healthcare. Information of patients, for example, their underlying disease, current medication with dosage, drug allergy profile, laboratory results should be linked between hospitals which will make medical service more efficient. Appointment date and time will be made online. Patients can come to the hospital with shorter wait time, like online check-in at the airport.

Good post. With a virtual hospital application, patients can access to the hospital’s sservices from any place, easilty, conveniently. The app offers real-time consultations with doctors via video calling. They can also take photo and record a video in the app before sending them to the doctor. However, the patient must have a fair amount of IT knowledge.

Some of you might have heard that internet brings us all closer together. In fact, it really is! The most prominent application nowadays is Telemedicine. It basically is a video call which patient and doctor can really have an interaction in real-time. Even though not all necessary steps can be done remotely (like Physical Examination), but it serves and enables people who live far from hospital to fulfil their basic needs of healthcare. Especially in the era of a pandemic breakout specifically COVID-19, these technologies are very useful for telemonitoring to avoid direct contact, inhibiting disease from spreading.
The main challenge is that not all people in my country can afford those technologies. Also, legibility and education also play important role in using these useful technologies properly.

Absolutely, telemedicine app is playing an important role in the situation of covid-19 pandemic. It has many benefits including symptom initial diagnosis and assessment, social distance, 2 ways comnunication, and cost saving. Howver, when using over the Internet, the app developers should implement a method of how to secure patient information as well.

Nowadays, internet technology plays important role in almost every healthcare aspect, for example,
-For patient services, starting from online registering new hospital numbers, online making self-appointments for the desired doctor, using the hospital application for telemedicine, tracking a pharmacy queue, making a payment, to set an alarm for the next appointment.
-For healthcare providers on patient service, the electronic medical record system helps us to review patients’ past medical history more easily and efficiently either intra-departmental or inter-department, and so on using today’s records for future data analysis. We can prescribe medication directly from our workstation to the pharmacy. Occasionally, we show and recommend specific health knowledge websites to patients for further understanding.
-Consultant physicians sometimes help and advise their juniors or colleagues using chat applications or closed group chat boxes.
-In terms of research field and self-education, both providers, including trainees and medical students, and patients can access the up-to-date health/medical knowledge on the website.
-For the national public healthcare organization, using data analysis from computer-based information systems for a wide-range population can improve decision-making in many directions and also policy.
All of the mentioned above will set the new standard of the healthcare system as it is more convenient, approachable, accessible, more accurate, and reliable, especially during the pandemic outbreak, with physically distancing policy, internet-based has enhanced the new healthcare approach.However, there are a few challenging issues here in Thailand. We have to admit that not everyone has access to the internet for multiple reasons, such as low socioeconomic or those seniors who are not familiar with the technology. Another thing is the more accessible the less data security. For the internet user-friendly population, the verification system has to be well-established.

Internet is widely used nowadays for more than just researching health related information. The ability of networking via internet has created ways of communication and data transferring between Healthcare(HC)workers and HC workers with Patients. Online software platforms could provide the information transferring between users which could elevate HC and medicine qualities in Thailand.
Moh-prompt and Health wallet in Pao-tang applications are HC applications which I have experienced. People can have their own electronic vaccines report or authorized electronic ATK test result via Moh-Prompt. For Pao-tang Health wallet, HC welfares are explained. People would be notified about their available HC support from public health policy and health care units nearby with services which can be searched. Overall as HC service users, using these online applications would help people to connect with HC benefits and able to manage some of their own health related issues.
As HC service provider, being able to connect with updated HC information creates more roles for small HC units. Instead of going to the hospital, some health benefits supported by public health organizations can be done by the neighbor pharmacy such as Free ATK and Free contraceptive pills via Moh-prompt and Pao-tang HC wallet respectively. The small health units can take some HC tasks to reduced crowding at the main hospital because of the internet that connects information.
Implementing HC online platform to big population might be one of the challenges. Individual HC service provider such as Pharmacy have to invest for connecting system to Public health’s data. As well as general people, internet packages and smartphones have to be available for connecting themselves to HC applications. Apart from that online platforms for HC are newly introduced to both HC workers and general people, it might not easily to use in some people and possibly take time to get used to the system. These issues above might slow down the process of connecting HC information throughout Thailand.

Information technology enables relatively quicker access to healthcare. In just a few tap, you can have a doctor’s appointment booked, consultation through online platforms, deliver medicines, receive laboratory results in few minutes, and much more. In the old days, people have to go through face-to-face visits to avail these services but with the power of IT, it has saved so much time (which is intangible) for patients as well as practitioners. Through IT, it gave more patients the medical attention they need more than ever.
In the Philippines, access to the internet still remains an issue. In some areas, there are no reception at all, while some are still stuck in 2G/3G connectivity which significantly affects the transmission of data. It also raises the issue of equity since not all people are equipped with smart devices to connect to the internet due to financial and/or literacy concerns. Even in urban cities, there are still areas where there are “dead-spots”. Also an issue would be how data are being handled by the ISPs – what gets shared and who gets and receives the data.

I can say that nowadays internet technology is greatly precious in improving not only in the healthcare system but quality of the patient.
Since the internet is widely used in the world, we all can access any information we want to know through the internet. Thus the patient can seek their possible diagnosis and non-pharmacological treatment by themselves before going to visit doctor at the hospital. Not only going to visit doctor at the hospital, patients can consult the doctor when they are at home by using internet, through Telemedicine, which becomes more popular nowadays.
However, I can see the drawback that physical examination is still needed to perform by doctors, for some diseases.The patients can also educate about medical knowledge and their healths by many applications, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Hospital websites, or even TikTok. I can say that this is a big challenge for healthcare providers to provide the right information to the patients because sometimes they come with asking for specific medicines at pharmacy but pharmacist systematically consider that they actually don’t need to take it. Or sometimes they present at the hospital with asking the doctor that they have this disease where there’s no specific evidence show that they have the disease, but they read them from internet.
We can clearly see that people on the country using more internet for interact with healthcare providers particularly COVID-19 infected cases. Since patients were home isolated and the doctor have to ask them for additional information and symptoms. Moreover, Mor-Prom application becomes everyone’s application since the vaccination information was recorded in the system and wherever we go, we have to show the record to the staff. Yet, Pan-Tung application is useful since the MoPH allows Thais to get free ATK tests at the pharmacies via Pao-Tung application. By utilizing and applying systems into real life, it make everything much easier.

Internet technology is growing rapidly. Most people are using the internet in their daily life, especially by mobile phone at any time and no matter where they are. Like other posts, healthcare providers, patients, and general people can all get connected to each other by having their internet.
The internet can deliver essential medical information and quality healthcare service through www and applications. The user can easily access to various medicinal information, but sometimes misleading information is uncontrolled. It is important to healthcare providers to not just only share good, accurate knowledge, but also share how to trust the information the user has been searched for.
Not only internet websites and applications that improve the quality of healthcare, but also, I have heard about the Internet of things (IoT) adoption in Thailand to improve healthcare services such as remote monitoring and robotic surgery.
Lastly, this internet technology is expanding and developing nowadays. More people are interested in technology to build and improve healthcare. However, another thing that we need to be concerned about is the people who live in rural areas and have no internet access. Without the internet, they would have less chance to access good health services. This is a weak point of my country that the internet is not spreading around the country enough for all people to access. -
Because of the Covid19 pandemic, the internet plays an essential role in healthcare and medicine. First, we can read news from other countries about the incidence of pandemics that lead to developing protection and treatment. Moreover, we know that we need to avoid physical contact so that we can contact via the internet. For example, we can see a doctor through an online application.
However, some rural regions in Thailand have no internet signal. It means not all people in Thailand can reach the advance of the internet.-
Internet access really is a challenge in Thailand. In addition, there are many area that can access the internet but users do not how to use it to access the healthcare information. I think another challenge is that we need more of public relations, instruction and an easy to use online healthcare platform.

In Thailand, internet do improve our healthcare and medicine quality. We have government healthcare applications that link all personal information related to COVID-19 healthcare. Which is great and convenient. After vaccinations the information appeared in the app within a few hours and we can access our vaccine certificate via the app. We can access our healthcare information from anywhere with the internet. The challenge would be how to do the same with other health information other than covid. It would be nice to have all the healthcare information within the app. But it would take some time to collect, organize, and manage the information which could take years.
