The topic of seminar3 on this Saturday evening (3th July 2021) is “Stakeholders’ perceptions on performance of the Livestock Disease Surveillance system in Uganda: A case of Pallisa and Kumi Districts”
The discussion topics that I would like to bring up are….:
1. Is there any different between animal disease and human disease surveillance system? and what is different that you think?2. According to One health concept, What is the importance of animal disease surveillance system?

Great presentation 🙂
In my opinion, the different of these two surveillance systems are:
– the complexity of the system which in human system is much more complex that in the animal.
– group/ Target/ stakeholder
– Number of populationThe importance of animal disease surveillance e system in One Health Approach is the collaboration/ connection with other sectors; human, environment etc. and another issue is the system operability that allow to share the data with others.

The main concept of one health in my opinion is breaking down barriers between animal health, human health and environmental health. By strengthening animal health surveillance systems, there will be less human disease outbreaks.

I think it’s a great idea that if we can integrate a human-animal surveillance system together in One Health System, it can help to shorten the time and prevent accidents. anyway, there are many differences factors between human and animal disease surveillance, including numbers, population groups, targets, stakeholders in the system, and interoperability.

Thank you for your presentation.
1. In my opinion, the different between animal and human surveillance system are the reporting system, in human disease surveillance have many established system but the other has few surveillance system.
2. Animal and human disease was in the one ecosystem then the animal surveillance system that can pick up the emerging disease in the animal, this system can prevent disease in human such as avian Flu.

Thank you for your great presentation.
In my opinion, the human surveillance system is more complex than the animal surveillance system. However, under One health concept, both human and animal surveillance systems should be enhanced to achieve the goal of protect life. -

It was a great presentation and it reminds me of importance of zoonotic diseases.
For discussion no. 1, animal disease surveillance system will be more difficult as there are pets, livestock as well as wild life and many more species than human race.
For discussion no.2, animal health surveillance system is really important for One Health Concept as we all live together and most of human beings depend on meat as one vital source of food. When zoonotic disease can transmit to human like Covid-19, human race can suffer huge negative impact.
