If you want to create an application whether a web app or mobile app, what programming language would you like to use to build and develop your app, why?

First of all, I don’t know much about coding or programming, so if I write something incorrect please correct my misunderstanding.
I would to learning more about Python because ,as one slide in this lecture video shown , Python is the most popular computer language today. Another reason that make me want to learn Python is that it is useful both in data analytic works and for my web app. As I can use Python to do ML/AI and I can also use Python with Django framework to built my backend for my web-app.
I also want to learn JavaScript to build my Web-App’s frontend. I heard about NodeJS, React and many buzz words but, honestly, I don’t know much about them and I wish I could learn more about them.

I think if you don’t know much about programming, Python might be a good choice, nowadays high school students are starting to learn Python because it is easy to learn and understand. Also, Python is very popular in data science. However to choose which language, it depends on what type of apps we will do and choose a language to suit our skills and suitability to the app.
Let me share about my office, we have a developer team to build different kinds of app for many organizations, for example, they use React Native to develop cross-platform mobile apps, while use React JS to build front-end apps. They also use Go Langauge to build back-end app. Some python will be used for simple data science or data exploring. In terms of web app, some of them used c++, and ASP.net
Thank you for sharing your idea,

Thank you so much for your advice, it’s very helpful.
How do you think about learning Django ? Is it a good choice to build some backend of website?-
2021-08-19 at 2:50 pm #30263Pongthep MiankaewParticipant
Well, Django is a great platform that has many tool components and packages. However, if you are a beginner in app development, in my personal opinion, Flask platform might be easier.

When we develop mobile app, given the current platform share, we need to equally consider both Android and iOS.
It is generally recommended to use Java, C# and kotlin for the Android platform, while Swift, Objective-C have been developed for the iOS platform.
When considering the Cross Platform use, which is designed to work in several computing platforms, such as Xamarin, Cocos2d and PhoneGap, there are certain programming languages that are suitable for each platform.-
2021-08-18 at 11:09 pm #30197Pongthep MiankaewParticipant
Yes, absolutely, with the cross-platform technology, we can build an mobile app by coding once, and then deplpy to several OS like iOS, Android, and Windows.

I do not have much experience with programming languages. I had used Python to do web data scraping once. I actually just ran the code my friend gave to me, but I think Python is a really useful program so it would be nice if I can learn more about Python. If I googled “develop apps” many web pages also mentioned Python, it is a really popular programming language. However, I think the program that is used would depend on what apps we want to create. Whether it is just a web app or a mobile app. The operating system of the mobile phone can also be a factor when deciding what programming language to use.
Since I do not have much knowledge about the programming language, I am really interested in seeing any sharing regarding the app development.

Python is a popular open-source. It has a lot of libraries not only for data science, but also data exploring and text processing. Yes, when we are looking for a tool for web scraping, Python is a good choice.

Since I have no experience in programming, I would like to start programming with Python since it is widely used in data science. I used to learn the basics of Python in programming with a simple command in managing data and I find it easy to understand and to start learning. I have a little experience with C++ while playing with Arduino (I am also interested in IoT technology, but only a beginner).
If I must choose a programming language to start with, I would go for Python as my main programming language, and I would learn more about C++ to improve my ability to tinker with Arduino.

In my opinion, I totally agree. Python is a good choice to start with. It is simple, but if you can master in it with some skills, it’s so powerful, especially in data science fields.

Like other, I have no experience in programming. If I want to create an application, I would learn C programming language first, to understand basic of coding and how to write program. Moreover, C programming language is a basis of other programming languages such as JAVA, C#,C++, Pearl, Python, and Ruby languages. There are the advantages of C programming language including, able to use with many platform such as IntelPC, Macintosh and also mainframe because they generally have compiler of C language. And C language also allow user to create the function by yourself because it has no build-in function. In conclusion, I think C language are very portable language and suitable for me.

If we take a look at the results of the survey about the most popular programming languages, many surveys have shown that the most popular languages are Javascript and python, so start learning C langauge, it’s easy to learn that languages in the future.

In my opinion, I prefer the python programming language for the creation of a mobile app as it is simple to learn and plays a vital role in data science for analysis.
But for creating a gaming app, I better go with C Sharp programming as they are convenient to use.-

In my personal opinion, we can build mobile apps with Python, but I’m not sure if app developers will like it or not. Due to the development of mobile apps with Python, it is necessary to learn its specific platform, such as Kivy.
For the field of data science, most people agree that Python is a popular tool.

I have no experience in programming. However, after a quick look on the internet, Python is popular on this day. Because it is easy to learn how to use, it can operate on a large-scale or industrial-scale, with flexibility on paradigm, many libraries, and extensive user community.

Since I never create any application and never experience with programming before, as most of comments above, I think I should start with Python as many people said that it is simple, easy to learn and also, its popularity. In my opinion, if I want to create an application which focus on data science analysis, Python might be the answer for me.

Python is widely used in medical diagnostics like CT, MRI to interpret differential diagnoses. Artificial intelligence models are used for scanning the images and it makes it way easier for health practitioners.

Hi Mr. Pongthep Miankaew,
Right now, I’m joining the malaria information system version 3 development team, our programmers now master PHP, and version 2 used the PHP programming language. for further system development, we will use the services of an IT company. for complex information systems that can receive data from computers and androids and are connected to other information systems. What programming language is suitable to use? -

Based on my experience with R programming, I would like to create a web application using Shiny in R . It is as simple to use and learn as Python. But it is not popular as Python due to its purpose specifically on statistics, while Python provides multi-purpose and large-scale usage.

For my experience as a POSN student, I usually programming via C++ language to solve the problems and tests. And as these experience, it’s a reason why I would like to use C++ language to create applications. However, several modern high-level programming language are develop for user-friendly and applicable, such as others’ mentioned “Python”. So, I think that it’s another choice for using as a programming language, that I should learn more!

I would like to acknowledge that I’m not familiar with any program languages. I would go for Python since it’s user-friendly and widely used in the field of data science. To my best knowledge, Python does not come with built-in mobile development capabilities so I prefer C++ to Python if it is about mobile applications.

I’ll use Python for creating the web app because it’s quite easy to learn compared with other programming languages. With the simple syntax and not too much complicated, and it’s the popular programming language nowadays.
