I like the idea of having blood pressure measurement at pharmacy. Then you need to think about how to get information from the pharmacy into the system.

Beside realtime report, I think we may need to have a good alert system to warn when the outbreak is likely to occur.

I agree, as NCD is more and more prevalent now. It become a major public health problem in many countries. However, the structure of surveillance system for NCD might need to be adjusted and might be a bit different from the routine surveillance system for infectious diseases.

I agree that having active detection of hypertension is really important. Diagnosis of hypertension is simple and cheap. Early detection and treatment would really help to prevent complications of the disease.

Yes! We need a research support. The surveillance system should produce effective data for research; and research should provide results that benefit to the surveillance system.

Clinicians in the hospitals actually play an important role for outbreak detection, as most index cases are likely be reported from hospitals. But doctors usually pay more attention to the treatment of patients, rather than reporting the information to public health authorization.

Yes. Data quality and timeliness of report are very important for outbreak detection and response. Although the system has advanced modules for early warning, but it still relies on the quality of data in the system.
