In the insurance industry, we have so much pain for medical expense in the US. Most travel insurance plan worldwide, coverage in the USA are excluded unless paying more insurance premium. I have experienced some cases in the US, where I think horrible. An example of a hemorrhagic stroke in California cost 400,000 USD which our company could pay…[Read more]

I think internet access is the same as education, once, used to be a privilege. Having internet access at home was a luxury. Now, internet access has become inevitable. Mobile phone with internet access is part of the life of people who lives in urban and suburban. Giving internet access to the whole population or as most covering as possible is…[Read more]

I work for an insurance claim department in an insurance company which is a non-healthcare facility but using a system which has the same purpose as EMR.
***The good things about using such system are;***
1. The required data and information are a predefined set. Our agent does not have to figure out what kind of data to collect in order to…[Read more] -

I think all of the challenge shares come concepts in common. It is about law, regulation and coordination of benefit and interest.
In any health informatics projects, one way to gain trust from participants and acceptable to the profession and academic community including to make the project’s results exchangeable, it is critical for the p…[Read more]

I agree with K.Thanachol and K.Tullaya and I’d like to add more opinions on how I think our UHC could have been better if we would been able to do somethings about healthcare workforce and financing. As we know most of our healthcare workforce are sponsored by government. It means taxes has been distributed to generate resources since the b…[Read more]

The organisation I work for is a business unit of a large global corporate. I think budget is negotiable while people is flexible. To support the disaster recovery plan as the same as to the business growth, we should have more data server/center outside Thailand. This is to make sure if disaster happens in form of physical threats that damage our…[Read more]

According to HIPAA, the company I work for is considered a “health plan”. We are “payer” and are coordinating with health care provider worldwide 24/7. We are expected to be always ready to confirm guarantee of payment. However, we have to accepts that delayed decision at our side leads to less proper management by health care provider yet financi…[Read more]

Fortunately, I have never had experience of data security. All of our core system is quite secured. However, what I have concerns most is a claim submission website which has been launched to be our contemporary channel before our RPA is to be implemented in the near future. the system collect, store and transmit much sensitive medical data. Agree with all the discussion, because plaque is notorious for the past outbreak in history, especially the “black death” which wiped out a third of the population in Europe. From the many studies, the “black death” in the 14th century was originally from China and spread out a trough trade route to Europe. I think China is familiar with the…[Read more]

The most popular is smart watches which can measure HR or simple one like that step counter app. in our mobile phone. It’s challenging to make a one system for all devices but it…[Read more]

Hi Dr. Tullaya…..Great system with ideas in details !! As I remembered you are also working on the project that for somehow related to obesity, is not it? I think obesity and its health consequences take time to develop mostly because of behavioural factors. Hi Dr. Tullaya…Thank you so much for your comments…..I totally agree with you that the important weak point of my system is missing part from the clinician side to confirm the case.
The follow up of the risk group and confirmation of hypertension by other clinical indicators to be made by the clinician is a must. So I may take this chance to gat…[Read more]

I think Thailand has to be more aware of Pneumonia the same as Mynamar but in a different group. We are already an aged society, 16% of our population age more than 60. They are a risk group for Pneumonia and it’s life-threatening for the group. Even the big portions, we still have no regular systems to take care of them so to monitor the health…[Read more]

Thailand has people who living with HIV for around 400,000 with new infection for around 5,000 per year. Apart from to reduce mortality rate from HIV/AIDs which has been greatly diseasing, our national target is to reduce new infection to less than 1,000 in year 2030. I think the target we need to keep eye on is not hypertension patients but one who shows sign or already develop high blood pressure but have not been diagnosed and treated.
