Thank you krub. So basically they can do almost the same but ArcGIS can give more fantasy graphical tools? This mean if I want a dashboard or any map to release to the public like the one from your example, ArcGIS is a good choice (regardless of budget) as it can give more attractive visualization.
I have an example at work (not my department).…[Read more]

Ameen started the topic Difference between ArchGIS and QGIS. in the forum Week 2 Journal Club 4 years, 7 months ago
I picked up an article using ArcGIS as their GIS tools. Besides being a commercial, is there any significant differences between ArcGIS and QGIS which we should think about when choosing tools in research i.e., graphic tools, analytic tools which make one give better result than another? And the most important is, modes and tools of the two are…[Read more]

Hi Khun Tullaya…I’m not sure but I think we can find it on PubMed, Scopus or Google scholar the same as other academic articles. The only issue for me is I have less background knowledge of GIS. So searching with keywords may give tons of results. I just have started with another way around by google with some word on healthcare issue I’m…[Read more]

Hi Lerm..according to my understanding…the instructor would like us to search for academic papers about topics related to GIS we are interested in. You have to pick up 2 papers which you think the most interest or you think your classmate should know about. Then you have to make a summary of the paper for your classmate to get to understand. You…[Read more]

Hi K.Nakarin…Trust you are doing well……Overall, this CRF is a simple and clean with well-arranged table, very helpful for the investigator to fill in. However, there may have something could make this form more practical.
1. There should have choices for the pregnancy test.
2. Before, eligibility check, there should have all preliminary q…[Read more] -

The project I joined had never done a proper data management system including the mentioned four processes. Our data was mainly stored in a set of excel spreadsheet and using SPSS for analysis. However, if we think about the concepts of the four process, even using a spreadsheet we might have done some of the processes which to protect the data.…[Read more]

We did not have a proper database system. The data collected from the field was stored in spreadsheet managed and kept by a project leader who responsible for statistical analysis. When part of data was required by any of team member to manage, the data would be extracted out and send to another through a spreadsheet through the portable drive.…[Read more]

I have some experience in consumer food production in the community research project. The study used a combined survey and interviews to collect primary data with a food sample laboratory analysis. The problems we had at the time of assessing the validity of the tool is responding to “portion size” of dietary food between the interviewer and the…[Read more]

For me, when we talk about the workforce, we should talk about training. I heard that there are many programs in health informatics already in Thailand, especially in Mahidol. Besides the program we are doing here, there are other programs which have the same field as in health informatics and could be considered as tier 3 training, for example,…[Read more]

I don’t think we have any reason to hesitate about data sharing anymore. Data sharing drive our human community forward. Every time, when data/information is shared, the knowledge we have is enhanced, especially of scientific knowledge. The conventional of data sharing, for example, in academic journals we are familiar with or traditional report i…[Read more]
