Hello Everyone. I am Myo Thiha. Today, I would like to present on the TB surveillance system. My surveillance system has 4 objectives: to detect all TB cases on time, to track treatment success rate, to identify outbreaks or clusters, and to evaluate the effectiveness of TB control programs and guide resource allocation. In terms of types of surveillance systems, I will use a mixture of active and passive surveillance, sentinel surveillance, disease-based surveillance, and indicator-based surveillance. Regarding the legal consideration, TB is a notifiable disease under the Communicable Diseases Law in many countries, including Myanmar. Health facilities are legally required to report confirmed or suspected TB cases to the Ministry of Health through the national surveillance system. I have referenced about case definitions from WHO. In stakeholders, I have 8 actors: the MoH, NTP, Regional and State Health Department, Public Health Facilities, Laboratories, Private clinics, INGOs/ UN, and Volunteers. I have 3 levels in data flow: national, state and regional level, and community level. I will use the DHIS2 and mobile data collection tools for data collection. I will disseminate the data in the monthly surveillance situational report, annual national TB report, quarterly review meeting, data for action workshop, international data sharing, and dashboards. Thanks.
Thanks for an informative and comprehensive presentation about TB surveillance system for Myanmar. Your surveillance system is practical and appropriate for the MM context. Data flow and utilization is also logical. I only have one comment; regarding cross-border surveillance, that you mentioned in your presentation. It would be great if you could add ‘how it will be collaboratively work with neighboring countries for cross-border surveillance’.
