Home › Forums › TMHG 549 Application of Geographical Information System (GIS) in Epidemiology Forum › General Issues › Nichcha (Wk2): Detailed screenshot and 2015.csv file issue
Dear Ajarn and Classmates,
I noticed that when I followed the steps in “2.2 Creating Spatial Joins: Joining Epidemiological Data to Layers” and checked the data in the ATTRIBUTE TABLE, my ATTRIBUTE TABLE did not show the last column (2015_Total_malaria) as shown in the screenshot on page 16. So, I went back to check the original file in the folder and found that this column did not exist in the first place. I also downloaded the original file from the Week 1 materials again, and this column was still missing; only the PV and Pf columns were present in the 2015.csv file. However, since the rest of the assignment did not mention this column or require it to be calculated like the PV and Pf columns, I decided to proceed without it.
Dear Ajarn, if the 2015_Total_malaria column is indeed required for the assignment, could you kindly provide an updated 2015.csv file? I will promptly revise my assignment accordingly.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Hi Nicha! I confirmed that I have tried to join and look into this for few times, it seems like the column of “2015_Total_malaria” has not been displayed based on original file as well as I submitted the completed assignment 2.3 without having “2015_Total_malaria” column in the report. Hopefully, Ajarns may provide further information/clarifications for this issue that whould be really appreciated.
Thank you in advance krub. 😊
Hello Nichcha ans Teerawat
For this assignment total malaria column is not necessary in this assignment and not use in the scoring method. don’t wary on this column once the data table can connect to spatial data correctly(every village point has their own cases data).
anyway if you need to calculate it you can done by field calculator.
Dear Ajarn Patiwat,
Thank you so much for the clarification.🙏
