ParticipantMy Health Record is a nationwide health information system in Australia. It is a good example of how health informatics support better health delivery at a national level.
The project fits into all 3 domains of eHealth–
Health in our hand – Patients can log in and review their own records. They can also control who can access their information.
Interacting for health – By getting access to the patient records, it facilitates the communication and coordination among doctors, pharmacists, specialists and hospitals. It avoids duplication of tests and reduces healthcare costs.
Data enabling health – The system enables de-identified aggregates of nationwide data that supports decision-making for legislation, research and public health planning.
Value
1) Reduce cost– health care providers can browse necessary patient data chronologically and give the appropriate care, without the need to repeat investigations and procedures and so reduce cost.
2) Improve patient satisfaction and trust – Patients can get timely interventions from the healthcare providers who knows about all their medical history. This will improve satisfaction and trust.
3) Improve patient outcome
Potentiate interoperability across different departments – more efficient and real-time data sharing enables staff from different departments to cooperate in a team manner effectively and efficiently
Reduce medication errors – Build-in function of EMR will notify health care staff about the drug-to-drug interactions and patient allergy status.
Reduce paperwork and redundancy – By avoiding redundancy, we can focus more on our patient care.
Foster data-driven decisions and planning – Data collection and collocation from various inter- connected systems like LMIS, HMIS and HRIS Data Analysis Data Usage for workforce and resources planning smooth the workflow, avoid medication and comorbidity stockout improve patient/staff satisfaction and health outcomes -

ParticipantHi Nang!
Thanks for the knowledge. I believe this project can significantly improve current health practices. When patients receive timely and well-coordinated interventions from providers who have a full picture of their medical history, they feel more confident and cared for. This transparency and continuity of care builds trust between patients and the healthcare system. -

KeymasterThanks Nang! Your presentation was clear and concise. The content covered the main requirements. However, it would be great to provide more detail on the my health record system (you still have about 1 minute presentation quota time.)
