ParticipantBrief description of MOHPROMPT_Thailand’s eHealth Project
MOHPROMPT is Thailand’s national eHealth platform that started during the COVID-19 pandemic. It grew out of an earlier app called MOPH Connect, which the Ministry of Public Health launched in 2018 to help people find hospitals, check eligibility, book appointments, and get health information. When COVID-19 hit, the app was rebranded as MOHPROMPT and became the country’s vaccine management tool. People could register for vaccines, book appointments, and get digital vaccination certificates. Later, it expanded into a broader digital health service, connecting hospitals, clinics, and patients in one system.
The platform is designed around three domains: Health in our hand, help citizens to manage their own health information, enabling communication between health authorities and the public (Interacting for Health), and using data to monitor vaccine coverage, side effects and service delivery (Data enabling Health). It helps reduce hospital congestion, cuts administrative costs, improves access to care, and strengthens Thailand’s eHealth system.
MOHPROMPT also has lessons for Myanmar. A similar platform could make healthcare more accessible and cost-efficient, especially in remote areas. But Myanmar would face challenges such as poor internet access, low digital literacy, fragmented systems, and political instability. Still, with good planning and advocacy, such a system could greatly improve healthcare delivery.

ParticipantThanks for shring the project, Ama Wah. I think this project enhance the citizens to make initiative in reaching of preventive services from health centers. This is a sign of community involvement in public health practice. From this project, health professionals can montior the ground situation and real time data analysis helps in reducing morbidity and mortality.

ParticipantHi Ama Wah,
Quite an interesting chatbot and app! Transition from LINE chatbot to mobile app? might be costly. However, the app serve as EMR too and it is a good point even though data privacy and security might be concerned in case of phone theft.-

ParticipantHi Kevin!
Yup, I would agree that cost of initial phase (transition) might be costly, but when it’s fully implemented, it would reduce cost of paper-related tasks, logistics, admin costs for the long run. Um, for data security for the app, based on my knowledge, it’s secured with citizen’s 13 digits number (ID) and registered phone number, and it is designed with one-time log-in. So, I think, though the phone is stolen, it would not easy to log-in unless the theft has the information. Also, I would say the app seems quite similar to Thai mobile banking apps, for example, the login steps, use of a PIN, and restrictions on screenshots (that’s just my observation 😀
