Hi all,
I would like to present the development of the Early Warning, Alert and Response System in Indonesia. It is aimed to provide early warning for the outbreak so the stakeholder can do countermeasures immediately and to be used to inform the public about the situation, trend, and risk factors of disease.
Happy to receive feedback and have discussion with you! Thank you.

Thank you for your presentation.
Application of Early Warning, Alert and Response System in the country is very helpful to early detect of the disease outbreak and also in the emergency situation. Moreover, it can create prompt response to any acute public health event.Thank you again for sharing.

Hi Karin, Thank You for your very clear presentation, EWARS is very useful for detecting malaria outbreaks, especially in low endemic areas and for elimination, especially for malaria in eWARS not in the form of syndromic surveillance because what is reported is positive malaria cases that have been confirmed by the laboratory.
eWARS needs to be increased so that it is more sensitive to detect outbreaks. Right now, the reporting period is every week. Preferably in the future, it can be reported daily. Reports are still sourced from primary health care only. While reports directly from the hospital are not yet in the system. The possibility of missing a case report from the hospital is very high. Thank you

Thank you for sharing your project surveillance system. Early warning system is helpful in detecting outbreaks. You may need to perform pilot testing on select diseases first (probably a two or three diseases) so you can gauge the performance of this system in its effectiveness to achieve the desired outcomes. Starting with an array of diseases will be confusing for the managers who will be initially handling this project. A lot oof trainings must be conducted to ensure everyone is aligned with the goals of the surveillance system.
I appreciate the Data Flow Diagram, simple but comprehensively discussed. Dissemination activities, as you said, must be strongly enforced such that the reports generated by the surveillance system will be useful in detecting potential outbreaks.
Overall, nicely done!

Thank you for your presentation. Early Warning is very useful to detect the outbreak as early as possible. It would be beneficial to use the data for other purposes such as control planning and resource distribution. I like the data flow diagram and I also think expanding the data intake/collecting from other sites such as hospitals, in the system, will prevent missed cases.

Thanks for sharing. I agreed with your friend’s suggestions. Particularly, a pilot testing for selected 2-3 disease of interest before launching the full scale system would be helpful.
