I have downloaded and installed the QGIS program version 3.18.3 and found that the QGIS winddown is a bit different from the QGIS Practical 1 guide.
Anyone who can know how to setup, kindly share or provide step-by-step.
Thank you in advance.

According to http://www.qgis.org, the standalone version of QGIS for Windows OS is 3.18 so just make sure that you download the 64bit version if you ram over 4GB. The program interface has a bit different but still works perfectly for our practice.

I used MacOS with Apple M1 chip to study. The app currently not support CPU architecture, instead, the app will be translated using Rosetta simultaneously. If there’s a bug that deter program function, I will switch to cloud based OS visualisation such as Microsoft Azure which I used in the last course (because PowerBI is not supported in Mac).

QGIS can also run on Mac or Linux, and you are welcome to use them; however, only Windows instructions are given in these lesson materials. If you get hung up and ain’t so familiar with the systems, you may be expected to spend sometime troubleshooting or default to a Windows machine in order to complete the exercises. I’m not a Mac/Linux expert but that is excellent for some of you to figure out a way around. If all you know is Windows, I suggest you stick with Windows for this course 🙂

I downloaded it running version 3.16.7 64 bit (Long term release (most stable)). It works for me. Try to install version 3.16.

Hello all, the examples and tutorials in this course have been developed and tested with the long term version 3.10 (the most recent at the time) and things on your screen can look slightly different to what is shown in the images in each practical. However most of them should be sufficient you can follow. Please let us know though if you have difficulties following the practicals due to version differences.
