Course Description
This course aims to provide foundational knowledge and practical hands-on skills in Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies and immersive data visualization using Virtual Reality (VR). Through a combination of lectures, guided hands-on sessions, and topic discussions, students will explore the technical principles behind IoT systems and VR platforms, as well as their diverse applications in clinical and public health settings. Key topics include sensor integration, real-time data acquisition, psychological perspective of VR, and immersive visualization techniques. Emphasis will be placed on real-world case studies and student-led exploration of current and emerging technologies. By the end of the course, students will be able to design basic IoT solutions and conceptualize immersive visualization tools tailored to healthcare and population-level challenges.
