This is clear as the dashboard for data visualization plays an important role in healthcare for several reasons. I think the most important one is to provide insights into data-driven decision-making for healthcare providers by allowing them to quickly grasp patterns and abnormalities for better patient care. I would also think the dashboard contributes to the opportunities to save healthcare costs because it can assist in tracking the costs where the resource can be used more effectively both individually and in the healthcare industry as a whole. From the public health perspective, the dashboard is an invaluable tool for providing up-to-date information on disease outbreaks, enabling rapid responses, contact tracing, and resource allocation during pandemics or epidemics.
As in the paper that was described a dashboard is a visual display or presentation mechanism, not solely a software product, there will be a lot of important characteristics that we need to follow in essential data visualization principles and performance metrics presentation. I will consider the dashboard to be simple to provide the needed information in a sparse way using a user-centered design. I will also apply the best display medium (table, graphs, Icons with relevant usage) for communicating data effectively. I value the characteristics of a dashboard in maintaining accountability, transparency, and data security simultaneously, which is also crucial to the implementation and use of a dashboard. Plus, all of my classmates’ discussions of the characteristics are notable.
