Yes, it will not turn to blue but will be in other colors (if I don’t missed it will be in yellow)
It will show in West_HighPrevPV.shp.
It will be more clear if you continue in section 2 (Intersect). -

Hello Navin
First of all check the layer arrangement of the layer you want to query it must be on top. then make sure you pick the correct table to query because QGIS can open many table at a time. if everything correct you should see the selected feature highlight in yellow (defaults color for QGIS). if that not work try working on one layer at a time and see what happen.
for the blue selection highlight in attribute table if you can do a selection correctly and don’t see highlight record it might be the record was randomly distribute try scroll down to see it. if it won’t highlight maybe cause by wrong setting in query, please try to slowly follow the instruction step by step if it show the same result it can be a machine error but I never see this kind of error before.
PS. please also check the selection tool can it select feature you want by clicking on it? it must be yellow highlight on feature you click.
Hope this help,

1. Make sure that your operation is correct
2. Make sure that you click on “Select Features”, not choose any options in triangle bottom beside it.
3. Do you have any notification bar show on the top of map page after click the “Select Features”?
– If the program can follow your command, the blue bar of the results will show temporarily
– If the program can’t follow your command, the orange bar with text ‘No matching features found’ will show temporarily

Sometimes, though you did the right steps, the selected features can’t be seen clearly. If so, check the layer view, the new layer would appear in the layer view. Then you can either check the attribute table of the new layer or you can change the color of the new layer to see your editions.
