Course description
Statistical methods in health research; concepts, data analysis and interpretation of results in health research; statistical methods for hypothesis testing of parametric and nonparametric analysis; description of samples, two-sample t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation and simple linear regression, Chi-square test, non-parametric test; statistical software packages in computer laboratory
Prerequisites
Graduate in Bachelor degree in Health sciences, computer sciences, and ICT.
LO: Learning Outcome
- Describe the basic knowledge of statistics in biomedical research and health science
- Differentiate types of data arising in public health and clinical studies to use the statistical tests properly.
- Apply an appropriate statistical test of a hypothesis for analyzing the sampled data.
- Select an appropriate statistical test of a hypothesis based on types of data for analyzing the sampled data
- Interpret and draw conclusions from the data analysis to describe the results supporting for the study or research.
- Work constructively in teams to participate in reviewing and criticizing study design and statistical methods in selected research problem
