With its real-time alerts will guide and help the healthcare workers to optimize the treatment plan and reduce human errors.
Factors that might influence the DSS implementation include:
User acceptance and training – since humans are an essential component to implementing the DSS system for providing quality care, healthcare workers need a common understanding of the effectiveness of the system. Providing necessary support and capacity building will ensure to use the system willingly.
Organizational culture – Encouraging the use of technology to provide the effective care of patients is another factor as reluctance to change the structure of an organization will hinder the implementation of the system.
Quality of data – Another crucial thing is that the medical guidelines and recommendations, client’s data and source of research evidence must be updated to date and reliable. Combining those validated will affect the accuracy of system recommendations.
Technology readiness – Implementing the DSS system for patient care will need the help of strong IT infrastructure so that workflows will seamlessly support the integration to existing one.
