In my perspective, eHealth encompasses two fundamental components that are pivotal in shaping the future of healthcare. The first component, mHealth, revolves around the utilization of mobile wireless technologies, such as smartphones and wearable devices. This facet of eHealth facilitates convenient access to healthcare services and information through mobile applications, enabling remote consultations via telemedicine and real-time health monitoring using wearable sensors. The second component involves the integration of digital networks within healthcare systems. This integration includes electronic prescribing (ePrescribing), which ensures accurate and secure transmission of prescriptions, as well as clinical information systems that centralize patient records for efficient and coordinated care. Additionally, the establishment of referral networks streamlines the process of connecting patients with specialists, fostering a seamless healthcare experience. These components collectively represent the transformative power of eHealth, enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and the overall quality of healthcare services.
