Besides its benefits of reducing costs and workloads, and enhancing the productivity of healthcare workers while improving newborn health outcomes, I believe that the infrastructure of the newborn screening system could be adapted for use in other hospital departments, such as implementing Hepatitis B and C screening in the gastrointestinal and liver department. If other departments can adapt and customize this newborn screening system to their specific needs, it has the potential to reduce staff workloads and improve the health outcomes of their patients as well.
