Thank you Khun Teerawat for sharing the interesting story of tracking pixels of patients in healthcare. I have learned a new technical term which is ‘tracking pixel’ used to track behavior when a user visits a website or opens an email. It is a serious concern in healthcare industries regarding tracking pixels. A number of hospitals and health systems are facing lawsuits for allegedly using pixel tracking technologies that shared confidential patient information with Facebook and Google, etc. Moreover, attacker can hack the operating system by using pixel tracking to exploit vulnerabilities.
Details of prevention of attack have been mentioned clearly in your post. On behalf of users of hospitals, I would rather demand the request of consent regarding tracking pixels from the users if the hospital authorities haven’t implemented yet.
