Hi all, I’m Tanyawat. I work at Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand as an Orthopedic surgeon. The main work is covering in 3 dimensions; service ( in pediatric Orthopedic field), teaching (medical students/residents/fellows) and research. There’s a lot of data and statistics part in my everyday work such as patients and diseases’ statistics for improving the healthcare service, some score monitoring of our students, and statistics for clinical research.
I had learned some basic statistics knowledge in my training years. Nowadays I actually use only some simple statistics in some tasks and research. I’ve learned basic function of SPSS. I’m very new to R program. Fortunately, we have statistician team who support those advance analysis in our institute and we are involved more in the interpretation part instead. However, sometimes we face the limitation of communication, so I think, and I hope this course will expand my knowledge and experience in data and statistics, so that I can understand more and apply to my work.
