As a medical doctor, I have to gain more knowledge and skill in public health practices, data design and management, data privacy and security, health system, data interoperability, management information system development, and the use of analytic software.
In conclusion, to become public health informatician, I have to add-on my medical knowledge with both public health and information technology discipline. It is not necessary to become expertise in both field, but I have to gain insight in the core of public health informatics, so as to facilitate collaboration between public health and information technology expert, and establish the “TEAM” work, not bearing everything to work on my own.
